Ingredients

 

The sauce:

  • 1g black vinegar
  • 6g soy sauce
  • 1g dark soy sauce
  • 55g water
  • 2.5g sugar
  • 0.5g black pepper
  • 0.1g star anise
  • 0.02g dried bay leaf
  • 0.1g five spice powder

 

Cooking rice:

  • 60g white rice
  • 90g water

 

Cornstarch paste:

  • 4g water
  • 2g cornstarch

 

PREPARATION

  1. Drain the packet of plant-based minced meat. Keep the drained oil which is canola oil for cooking later.
  2. In a pan, heat up oil and fry the plant-based minced meat and onion until slightly brown.
  3. Mix all the sauce ingredients together first. Add them to the plant-based minced meat. Mix well again.
  4. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Thicken sauce with cornstarch paste if needed.
  5. Pour over cooked rice and serve with boiled xiao bai cai.
